Board Game Tournaments (BGT) and its definitions
Two special cases of BGT are CGT (checker game tournaments) and SGT (chess game tournaments).
Initially, we will focus only on CGT which works as follows (from back cover of Ref. 2) :
This book introduces each person of the general population to a unique FUN way of making a new recreational living or profiting handsomely (!!!) via one day Board Game Tournaments (BGT) centered initially about the familiar game of checkers for the OVERPOWERING REASONS STATED AND PROVEN BEYOND ANY DOUBT HEREIN with 50% of the entrants as BGT "winners" in each one day tournament with one game per opponent (selected randomly by draw) and eight opponents (games) per day.
Each of the 50% highest scores will approximately DOUBLE his/her tournament entry fee, "e"=$20, $50, or $100, or ..., selected by the "house"(i.e. any major hotel in the USA) in any one day tournament which can be held 365 days per year. It is predicted that crime would then be greatly lessened because there would now be DAILY FUN, INTERESTING, and PROFITABLE things to do for all segments of the participating general population. Improved Casino card game

The author maintains that this is a substantial improvement over no-limit Texas hold'em, which is the panacea of poker tournaments today. The one negative is that it would be much harder for the TV audience to grasp all of the subtleties of play, so that more TV time would have to be devoted to each hand. However, the improvements over no-limit Texas hold'em are very substantial (Ref 5).
Re: contract bridge
Refer to Ref.1, p. 148 for the new and better contract bridge scoring system which accomplishes the following: Three no-trump, four in a major and five in a minor suit is still game, and slam bonuses are still the same, but part-score games are much harder to obtain.Thus, it is very important to stop one level short of game if you can't make game. This tends to lengthen the rubber and make it more competitive in the long run, so that the cards can more readily equal out. Thus, skill is increased. For several reasons, over-tricks are not counted except when doubled or re-doubled, and whose concepts are the same. Bonus tricks are awarded for each level bid and made beyond game. Example: Three hearts needed for game, five hearts is bid and made. Since five hearts is two levels beyond game, two bonus tricks worth 60 points each are awarded. Slam points are the five-bid score plus the usual slam bonuses. Set points are exactly the same. All in all, this new scoring system is more accurate and skillful.

bulletin for $25 per year. It ususally has one or two pages of beginners' material, plus advanced and expert tournament games and analysis.

The first series of BGT tournaments should involve only our wounded and disabled veterans. High government officials should be contacted to provide the millions of dollars to support these heroes and create interesting and profitable fun for them.
Success of these tournaments would pave the way for similar tournaments for beginners and novices of the general public. Obviously, this is a very difficult task, but it can be done with the appropriate marketeers.

More thoughts
Again, these board game tournaments (BGT) are for beginners and novices only, with no advanced or expert checker players allowed. Thus every entrant into a BGT tournament has an excellent chance at winning big money while having a great time at it. Action required: Tell your colleagues and friends, the rich and advertisers about it because if BGT forms (which will take millions of dollars for a series of tournaments; millions for prize money, that is) many laypeople can finally make big money easily while having a ball doing it.
Then BGT will spread worldwide, and the public will have a great new way of making a recreational living.
These are one-day tournaments with 50% of the entrants winners of big bucks, and a loser can profit in each one of the next series of tournaments, while having a great time, even as a loser.
This is 100% pure intellectual skill.
Again, Ref's 1,2 and 3 give the details. Ref. 1 gives a great deal of instruction on checkers which is inexhaustible and unmasterable by humans.
Then BGT will spread worldwide, and the public will have a great new way of making a recreational living.
